I should start with the fact that everyone in our household has allergies even the dog I think but that had not been confirmed Currently we have the Blueair units in all the bedrooms and family room The best thing about Blueair units is they work We really feel a difference Before getting Blueair my wife was not able to sleep thru the night She would get congested and her throat would get dry so she kept waking up to drink water Whatever was giving her trouble is now gone from the air and she is finally able to get a good nights sleep
Outside the fact that this unit cleans the air I do also like that it is steel construction I did a lot of research and that is hard to find its quiet and its energy efficient This model also comes with interesting electronics It has a handy little sensor on the side of the machine that actually measures particles and odors I like that a lot because I can set it on Auto mode and it does all the speed changing by it self Definitely takes the guess work out of what speed to run it on As for warranty the warranty card says mail in for free 5 year warranty

We have this Blueair silent product in our bedroom and it is great If I stay somewhere else without the Blueair I notice allergies
Blueair quietly cleans the air in our room and cuts back on the dust in our old home If we don t run it we notice dust
On the highest setting it makes a slight but pleasant fan sound but you are only to run it on high for a little while for example before going to bed Then turn it down a notch or two and you will have uncongested sleep and less allergy symptoms in the morning
It is worth every penny for the relief

We have had this Blueair silent air purifier for a couple years now and love it My wife and I both have allergies and we run it in our bedroom every night It is so quiet in fact that sometimes we forget to switch it off in the morning
We live in a major city which is very polluted

It helps very much with dust and allergies In fact if I am having a really bad allergy attack spring or summer after mowing the grass for example I can go in my room turn on the Blueair on high and in a couple minutes my head and ears clear my chest relaxes and the old allergy headache goes away
This thing is better and faster than taking medicine

Blueair customer service has been very responsive as well When we order filters they always arrive even faster than promised

Keep the filters changed wipe off the outside from time to time and you will enjoy clean air and fewer allergy headaches too

We ve had several BlueAir purifiers for at least 5 or 6 years now and are very happy with them They are quiet at low speeds and have very high ratings for the amount of air they purify We bought ours based on recommendations from the Allergy Buyer s Club My wife is allergic to our Norwegian Elkhound and is only able to tolerate him because of our BlueAir purifiers

We like the two 402 units which I gave 5 stars more than the 601 unit The 402 units have 4 speeds the lower 2 of which allow us to sleep The 601 unit only has 3 speeds of which only the lowest is quiet enough to allow sleep or listening to music or TV in the same room The 601 unit is good for a family room or living room as long as you turn down the speed while in the room The 402 units are much better for bedrooms

I have bought 2x of these products and they are excellent I bought the earlier 450 sq ft model about 5 years ago and it saved us during the San Diego fires I bought the 510 model for my mom last christmas and she just loves hers It s not very loud and you can shove it up against a wall in a corner without harming its function at all so despite being rather big and boxy it need not take up much space I use ours sometimes as a coffee table My mom shoved hers up against her dresser by the doorway so it doesn t consume any usable floor space in her apartment The large intake is on one side at it shoots the fresh air straight up into the room so pushing it against a wall doesn t harm its function

There is no magic to this product You need a large and powerful fan and a large surface area for a HEPA filter to work well This is one of the largest of the large The large surface area allows the fan to work at low RPM and makes it quieter The settings are OFF Speed1 Speed2 Speed3 The most powerful Speed3 is only moderately loud We use this filter to clean our whole downstairs which is about 1000 sq ft No filter on the market is more muscular than this one

I would normally rate this 5 stars but the street price for this discontinued product was always 230 300 I cannot understand why this retailer is asking for 5x 6x the normal price So based on value for money I have to rate this product 1 star at a price of 1295 00 This is a discontinued product but heck 1295 is just a ridiculous price and they are sucking the blood from innocent people with allergies The price stinks and even this excellent product cannot clean away THAT stench


>> Quiet Effective Air Purifier
I ve had the 510 for several years now and am extremely pleased with it It s relatively quiet very important bc it s in my bedroom and is on when i m sleeping Though it is a bit louder when it s on high most of the time it s on a lower setting bc that much power isn t always needed unless you re trying to clear the room of smoke or something else

I like the very simple filter status lights hold for five seconds to reset and it tells you when you need to replace the filters Although filters are expensive all are purifiers are like that and if you want it to continue to work effectively it s just something that you have to invest in

also i really like the fact that it sucks in air from the front and blows out from the top so i can put it up against my wall i live in a small apartment so that really helps with space It generally looks nice keeps the apartment relatively dust free and provides for nice air circulation in the apartment

I bought a Whirlpool Whispure 510 Air Purifier locally since I was in a desperate state due to allergies The product works quite reliably in combination with prescription drugs yay Nasacort AQ better living through chemistery No tissue/wastebasket combos next the bed This is a nice against the wall type of unit I also have a much larger Friedrich C 90A Electronic Air Purifier that I use as a side table which snaps erratically and isn t fit for a bedroom

Some comments
This stands about 2 high 1 5 wide 10 deep and sucks in air from the front cleans it and then jets it up and out to your left as you face the unit so think about room placement

The pre filter and HEPA filter replacements are expensive even the third party ones I ve extended the life of my pre filter with outdoor vacuuming of the unit/pre filter especially in the initial setup phase It sucked in so much dust that it was a nasty mess

The highest speed is rather noisy but makes a great white noise generator if you live near random noises like the entrance to my apartment complex I slept a lot more solidly by not hitting the sleep mode

Reliable 3 years and going This has lasted longer than most of my boyfriends P

I was diagnosed six months ago as having a severe dust mite allergy and also as slightly allergic to cats We have two cats I didn t want to get rid of so our compromise was to buy two blueair filters We bought the 603 for the first floor which is about 1000 square feet and a 503 for our bedroom We have run them nonstop since we bought them six months ago

Last year when I went to the allergist I had been having breathing problems for 9 months and what seemed like a nonstop cold This winter I have felt great all winter I think the blueair HEPA filters really made the difference I did also put my mattress and pillows in dust mite covers

We leave it running on high 24 hours a day and it has worked great It sounds like a typical fan on high but on the HEPA Silent mode you can t hear it In fact my husband will turn it to HEPA Silent and I ll get mad at him because I think he s shut it off

When we decided to buy a heavy duty HEPA filter we wanted the best we could get since this was seriously affecting my health I definitely feel we did get the best I should add that we owned a low end Honeywell HEPA filter for years which I slept with on in my room and it didn t help at all with my allergies It s definitely worth getting a quality product

I m very happy with the performance of my 603 I keep it on high while not sleeping and can feel the draft it creates in the apartment It certainly moves a lot of air I keep it on the 2nd lowest mode while I sleep and although it s on the 2nd lowest mode it s still so silent on this speed I have no problem falling asleep It s wheels are convienent for moving it it s simplicity in operating and changing filters is very welcome The little blue light on the corner of the machine which is the BlueAir symbol is rather bright at night so I turn the machine so the light faces the wall I also have taped a little piece of paper over it to block the little diode light But aside from that very little problem i m extremely happy after owning the maching for about 1 month I ve noticed much less dust and even much less smells in the air from polluted air or from cleaning detergents I would buy it again in a heartbeat

Unless you enjoy exercises such as stand sit squat bend lift and carry do not buy this poor excuse for an air conditioner/heater We made the mistake of buying the Soleus Air and it has been nothing but problems for us It actually works as far as making the room cool or heating it but be prepared to constantly jump up every 15 minutes to bend down and empty the water tray And I m not talking about the tray that is supposed to be in the machine evaporating the water I m talking about you putting a baking sheet or low lying pan behind the machine so it can catch the water pouring out of the hose in the back If you don t put a tray there you will have water all over your floor destroying your hardwood floors just as mine are now ruined

I have never hated an inanimate object but now I do I hate Soleus and I would imagine that could be extended to most if not all portable air conditioners We even spent another 75 and bought a water pump thinking if we hooked that up it could redirect the water out the window but guess what the RETARDED Soleus is so poorly designed that unless you are a carpenter that can build a strong stand to put the machine on in order to get the space needed to fit the pump into the situation that won t work either Oh and forget the Owner s Manual It doesn t tell you anything about the water nightmare and what you can do to make the machine work better because there are no answers to that problem Nor does it even tell you how to work the stupid remote and if you make the mistake and use it the timer gets messed up and keeps turning off the machine every 30 minutes

Don t buy a nightmare buy anything other than a Soleus Air and/or portable A/C you are better off buying a window A/C or a good old fashioned fan

An ozone generator is like having your own lighting storm air cleaning system This is the nuke em type you turn it on and set the timer and leave the room until it is done and the air has cleared The ozone is like bleach in the air and kills mold and odors Very handy for moldly rooms or a smell in the car The small air cleaning types put out a low level of ozone that is low enough that it is safe enough to breath and will clean the air but the ozone is still bad for asthma and can make allergies worse The low level ozone level with those units is also too low to kill mold or get ride of odors at the source Where a ozone generator like this model puts out enough ozone to nuke the problem at the source by killing the mold or mildew but of course you have to stay out of the room to avoid breathing excessively high levels of ozone Later after the air has cleared you will still smell a ozone smell for a few days a sort of clean smell like after a thunderstorm This unit has a metal case and three ceramic elements and is a small commercial type unit designed for heavy use While this unit is too small for quickly doing an entire apartment it is the right size for a car interior or for doing one room at a time So far I have used it in one bedroom our minivan and my mother borrowed it for her car I also plan on using it in another bedroom and maybe the basement Buying this generator is like getting a steam cleaner you don t think that you will use it much until you have one and then you find all kinds of uses for it and everybody wants to borrow it

This generator selling for 350 is a good bit cheaper than many of the larger commercial units which seem to be designed for hotel more for apartment use after someone has smoked in a room or for cleaning up after water damage This small unit will do those jobs as well just one room at a time and is a more practical sized and priced for home use The generator has a timer that can be set for up to an hour and a continuous setting One word of caution the continuous setting is set by turning the dial backwards from off rather than past the timed settings I nearly broke the handle by trying to turn it the wrong way before I realized my error The instructions are very brief but then there isn t much to using one of these things The ceramic elements can be removed and cleaned so the unit should last for just about forever Save the box and packing for storing it in which will keep dust out of the inside wiring
