I have had the SS 3X model of this series for almost 4 years I bought it as a solution to kill mold as the promotional material indicated the unit could penetrate through walls and kill mold at the source It works A very effective solution I run my unit 24X7 as it helps clean the air in many ways The trick is to buy a unit sized to the space you are treating
After these 4 years or so my SS 3X has lost some its power and I will be upgrading to the NS series as they are touted to last longer The way I quickly tell if the unit is working is to put a rubber band around it It used to be that the rubber band would break after a few days or so Now it takes much longer before it breaks Yes the emissions cause rubber to deteriorate so be careful where you place the unit
